Eve Somerville is a Planning Officer for Local Government and has worked at Teignbridge District Council for over 8 years. Planning Officer duties include the determination of planning applications for development and land use throughout the Teignbridge area.  Most of her recent accomplishments include an MSc in Urban Planning, which involved 2years of academic study followed by a 20,000-word dissertation on Transition Town Totnes, with an under graduate in Planning Law.
Whilst studying, the opportunity arose to attend a global conference in Taiwan with leaders of nations, and professors of leading academic institutions; this was to discuss sustainability issues from around the world where she presented to the forum British sustainability projects.  Eve was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire and moved many times from England to Scotland with her Father’s career as an Officer in the Royal British Navy.  Eve is from a family of 13 children, two parents, and 23 nieces and nephews; although Eve is unmarried with no children she takes great delight in spending time with her family.  Eve has many interests include playing the piano, music, learning languages including Hebrew, and travel. 
Eve plays an active part in church service as a Councillor in Newton Abbot Ward Relief Society.   Her pervious church service includes ward primary teacher and music director; stake primary secretary; seminary teacher, and stake young womens president.  Eve has accomplished much in her 35 years, but her most precious moments are spent in private, personal worship with her Saviour.
